RAAPS-UK (Network of supports and actions for social protection) is a charity working in the care of victims of human trafficking and modern slavery, orphan and abandoned children (women), homeless and victims of wars in the Dem.Rep.Congo. It was founded in 2015 and become a registered charity 1171963 in Wales in March 2017. In other words, RAAPS-UK is a new charity established in Wales/UK working for the prevention or relief of poverty in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, housing, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient. In UK we are looking for Volunteer teachers and trainers from UK who will instruct children according to the RAAPS-UK policy,General manager and Assistant manager (paid posts), a volunteer coordinator (which will be paid later on) who will be in charge of all activities etc...

What we'll deliver:

  • Hire an office and buy dffice equipment
  • Trainings and meetings opportunities...
  • volunteers expenses and refreshments

Why it's a great idea:

This is a great idea in the sense that we are a new group and want a start up grant in order to buy office equipment such as computers, printers, papers ..., hire an office . We will use the above equipment to look for funding , to find premises so that we can hold meetings and provide trainings opportunities such as ESOL and TEFL trainings as well as recruiting volunteers teachers and administrators...the equipment will also ensure that the trustee and group can meet and work together. We would like to ensure that our volunteers and staff have an opportunities to learn and share skills to improve employability. Finally with this funding we will create jobs such as : volunteer coordinator, general manager and his assistant, receptionist, ESOL and TEFL trainer......

Steps to get it done:

  • Creating volunteer and paid jobs here in UK
  • Hire an office and buy office equipment
  • Opening a RAAPS-UK official and paid website and creating more leaflets
  • Organizing meeting of the trustee and all members regularly
  • Recruting volunteers and ESOL/TEFL Trainer each term
  • Training opportunities for volunteers teachers regularly

RAAPS-UK will first achieve the universal primary education as well as reduce children crimes and mortality. It will eradicate extreme poverty and hunger by bringing a new integration of poor families and children into a new society. Also, RAAPS-UK will develop a global partnership of economy development and education between the UK and DRC. It will break many barriers in both countries such as creating more jobs, as well as breaking the massive coming of young people from the DRC to UK or Europe etc... That is why we are looking for: -British trainers and volunteer teachers who will teach in these schools in the Democratic Republic of Congo. -British Financial support for the success of this project proposal -British partnership or sponsorship to work in a close collaboration with RAAPS-UK for the interest of our two countries and children who represent our future…
