Creating a Community garden for growing food for the local community particularly those who live in flats with no gardens and to enable children to learn about growing food and ecology.
This project is preparing for fundraising. Click Like to show your support, or Follow for updates on this project's journey.
This project will be open to anyone who wishes to come along. We will welcome volunteers to help with planting and harvesting. We will be providing raised beds for easy access and a place where children can dig and have fun whilst learning about nature. Many locals live in flats and do not have any gardens. This project will provide them with a space to grow food, to enjoy the company of others and learn about gardening.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Short term benefits will be to harvest crops of easy grow vegetables this year. In years to come the garden will provide a place to meet new people and come to enjoy gardening and the health benefits it will bring. It will also be a place where bees and other pollinators will find a safe haven.
Steps to get it done:
Terriers is on the northern side of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. It is home to people of all kinds of backgrounds. Some parts are deprived and others affluent. St Francis exists to serve all our neighbours.
