Local groups, bands and shows often sound amazing but lack the equipment to deliver the big stadium visuals that enhance the experience for everyone. We will put the creative spotlight on Calderdale!
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
There are countless talented performers all across Calderdale. Brass bands, rock bands, amateur dramatics, school music performances, school shows, dance groups, orchestras, dementia choirs, battle of the bands, operatic groups, folk groups and big bands to name but a few! We want to enable all of these groups to be able to have the opportunity to experience performing with industry style visuals that would normally be reserved for those gracing the big arena and stadium stages. We expect them to take the audience’s breath away, empower performers to create stage shows that are creative and imaginative whilst enhancing their performance beyond their wildest dreams and create opportunities for young people to learn the skills and techniques involved in planning and devising stage shows that can have positively life changing outcomes! We will support these groups with industry standard stage lighting and training to maximise their visual and creative experience and performance!
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Most bands/groups/performers spend hours, days, weeks and even years perfecting their art and yet, so few of them get to experience performing with the visual spectacular that famous bands deliver night after night in huge venues. We believe that everyone should be able to create a spectacular visual performance to enhance their art form in venues and on stages in and around Calderdale. We all know that simple lighting can enhance the atmosphere and mood of any room at home and the difference that industry standard stage lighting can make to a performance is phenomenal. We want audiences to experience the enhanced performance, the bands, groups, artistes and performers to have an opportunity to be creative in their stage production and develop new experiences for those interested in the technical operation of the equipment. The impressive stage shows shouldn’t just be for those that can afford it. We hope to bring accessibility, affordability and creativity to Calderdale’s stages!
Steps to get it done:
Calderdale Music Trust would oversee the bookings, training, maintenance and operation of the equipment. A nominal charge would be issued to cover maintenance and training. Calderdale Music Trust would ensure that accessibility and diversity is promoted through the delivery of stage equipment.
