We want to put on an exhibition of local musical talent in the heart of Shoreditch, playing timeless classics for all to sing along to. We hope to galvanise our local community through the therapeutic art of song, while all proceeds will go to local mental health charities. The event will be free to attend, however any proceeds made from food stalls, bars, programmes etc will be donated to fantastic charities. We aim to promote emerging talent in the area and heighten awareness of mental health, and have a good old sing song in the process! We need your pledges, no matter how big or small, to help us bring a fantastic gig to Spitalfields square on the 27th August, and to support amazing organisations who do so much for local people. Please help us!
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Singing is proven to have significant therapeutic qualities, giving people an escape from the worries of daily life and providing huge stress relief - how great do you feel having just screamed Wonderwall at the top o your lungs? We want to share this with all of Shoreditch, get em moving and leave with a smile on their face. We hope that by sharing in this curative experience, not only will it brighten the day of countless East Londoners, but that they'll get to know local people they hadn't met before. We want to bring the community together! Most importantly, along with all this fun we want to promote a very serious message and do our bit to raise awareness about mental health. The charities we have chosen do phenomenal work and any support we can give them is invaluable to a brilliant cause.
