Our vision, mission and purpose is 'To make mental health services more accessible to the South Asian community in the UK.' We also plan to carry out mental health and well-being Youth Work to support young people who are of South Asian origin.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
To ensure mental health services are more accessible to the South Asian community, the donations received will be used to achieve our key aims: -To provide translated resources for those whose main language is not English, including translators, in order to increase the confidence levels of services users with accessing information or to minimize language barriers. -To implement mental health support lines and online or other services to provide information, advice and signposting to local mainstream or non-mainstream mental health services, so the community know where to go for the right help. -To work together as a community to remove the stigma associated with mental ill-health, or with accessing support. We believe that no-one should feel 'shame' or 'guilt' associated with seeking mental health support. We plan to tackle this by addressing issues of stigma and stereotypes across South Asian communities, and by opposing stigma and discrimination.
