We are looking for funds to cover the installation of the compost toilet, as we already have a grant to pay for the actual composting toilet unit.
HAWKS BMX club runs Saturday training sessions with British Cycling fully qualified BMX coaches, for all levels of experience, age, gender, walks of life, ethnic backgrounds and all levels of physical ability/disability. All riders start at novice level (new to the sport) and work towards intermediate level rider (riders who has been riding for at least six months and/or showing that they have certain skills and starting to race), until they reach expert level (a full range of skills and racing in regional, national, euro and world level competitions).
On Sat's we have over 70 riders across all three sessions but unfortunately the club have no running water or electricity, despite asking the council for many years to rectify the situation. We are unable to offer proper toilet facilities and this has been the case for the last 18 years.
What we'll deliver:
- Install new composting toilet unit onsite.
Why it's a great idea:
A more hygienic environment for all who visit the club.
A compliant (in terms of safeguarding) facility that offers privacy when using the toilet.
On top of our regular weekly sessions,The club will also be able to run more holiday sessions during the year and add new sessions for after school clubs and over 30 ladies sessions.
We could also host school group sessions during curriculum time if we had a toilet.
Steps to get it done:
- Sept 2020 for installation of the compost toilet
