Installing solar panel arrays at 3 primary schools in Frodsham and one in Elton. Cheshire West and Chester are in agreement with these installations being installed. The proposal has been created in partnership with Chester Community Energy Ltd (CCEL), a not for profit community interest corporation who own and run solar panel arrays at 3 Brio run leisure centres in Cheshire. CCEL would take ownership of the panels and responsibilities for maintenance. Match funding will be sought from the Marshes Community Benefit Fund. The remaining funding (approx 50%) will be generated by community share offer.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Reduce carbon emissions from the schooling of children in these communities. Thereby taking vital action on the climate emergency and biodiversity loss globally. Generate energy on site and thereby improve resilience of these crucial buildings to energy supply instability. Provide visible infrastructure that inspires change in these communities towards a zero carbon and circular economy.
