St Lawrence Jewry has been providing continuously free lunchtime piano recital every Monday for many decades. The church currently uses a Steinway Model D Grand Piano that was made in Hamburg in 1926 and thought to be previously owned by Sir Thomas Beecham, a famous English conductor and impresario. Although the church does its best to maintain the piano, it now needs to have a big restoration to put it back to international concert standard. The piano recital series is part of the church's music ministry of providing a venue for aspiring pianists to showcase their talents/skills to an appreciate audience. Many of these artists have now made names for themselves and are performing around the world. It attracts the largest number of attendances per week among the City Churches lunchtime concerts/recitals. It is a haven for City workers to enjoy live classical music during their lunchtime. The piano recital series is being ran by volunteers.

What we'll deliver:

  • To preserve the tradition of providing free lunchtime piano recital to the City of London workers and visitors
