We give dog owners the unique opportunity to bring their dog to work with them by prioritising FLEXIBILITY of our services and adapting to their needs as owners. So if they have a 1hr meeting, or want to go to the gym or even have arranged to meet friends for a drink in a bar that doesn’t allow pets, then we are here to help. While they are with us, our trained staff will “socialise” dogs with other dogs and give them the best care on offer so that the owner always knows that their best friend is benefiting from their stay at the House. We employ local unemployed people, who will be given full training in Animal Welfare, Dog training, day to day running and management of a business. They will be supervised and trained up to run the centre when they are ready. We are teaming up with local dog rescue charity All Dogs Matter where they will collaborate with us on a launch and other future events to promote rescuing and saving dogs lives in East London and surrounding areas.

What we'll deliver:

  • Hire local people who are trapped in poverty with full training
  • Market a launch event to really push us out into the area.
  • Secure the premises

Why it's a great idea:

Shockingly poverty rates in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets are the highest in the whole of England. 39% of children in Tower Hamlets live in income deprived families. The highest rate in England 49% of older people in Tower Hamlets live in income deprived households. The highest rate in England. Tower Hamlets has the 4th highest rate in employment deprivation in London after Barking & Dagenham, Hackney and Islington. We are taking the proven business model of dog day care from New York and bringing it to London, with a very important social angle. We use our profits to give back to the local community. We employ local people only, where they are trapped within the welfare system and poverty. People who will thrive in an environment looking after animals and learning and developing new skills. All dogs are socialised, trained where needed and loved. By carrying out full DBS checks and training employees in dog care we offer a unique and safe service.

Steps to get it done:

  • Employing and training staff
  • Hiring staff
  • Marketing our services and why we exist
  • Training locals that aren't staff
  • Promoting dog welfare via educational classes
