Existing semi derelict refreshment kiosk at Linford Christie Stadium and adjacent to Wormwood Scrubs in W12 can be brought back to life with a little seed funding to kick start a community led project

There are No refreshment facilities at Linford Christie Stadium or at Wormwood Scrubs for those who come to enjoy the wide open space or to play sport including running, football, hockey, baseball, fly a kite or walk their dog. There is an unused former kiosk and much community enterprise with a wish to make a difference. I have spearheaded a project to get the kiosk operational and have sponsored a new water supply and equipment to get the kiosk up to a very basic level of operation. To make the facility a success, it will require financial help to get it through a trial period, establish a presence and build up custom.

Why it's a great idea:
Increase the enjoyment, safety and provide much needed refreshment adjacent to Wormwood Scrubs where none exists at present. A refreshment kiosk will provide a hub for social interaction and play. It will be an information point, a meeting place, a resting place and a place of safety in what is often a wide open and under used scrub land.
Steps to get it done:
The project has the support of the Wormwood Scrubs Charitable Trust, The Friends of Wormwood Scrubs, the Ward Councillor and the many and varied users and visitor to the Scrubs. Once established, it will be a success.

VolunteerI am a local resident to Wormwood Scrubs where I run, walk and play sports. I support the hard work of the Friends of Wormwood Scrubs and together with other local residents we want to improve the amenity and create a safe social refreshment hub next to the open space and the athletics stadium and soon to be completed cycle path.
