The St Lawrence CE School Council would like to refurbish an empty wooden hut on our playing field to a wellbeing hut where children can go and colour, read, and play quiet games. The aim is to put a floor in the hut, put a waterproof table and chairs in it and paint the in and outside to make it look attractive. It will also need a sign 'School Council Wellbeing Hut'. The school council are trying to raise money through non uniform days and other events but as we are the smallest school in Telford and Wrekin, money generated is not that of what larger schools would raise.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This will give our pupils a covered space to sit and colour, read, play quiet games at breaktimes and lunchtimes all year round if they don't want to join in with playground games on the playground. Some children enjoy playing football/tennis on the playground but other children prefer a quieter area to sit and relax.
Steps to get it done:
We would also like to make our lovely 'quiet garden' an all year round area by concreting the floor. Children can only access this in the summer months due to the current ground. This is all part of the same school council project to improve our breaktimes and lunchtimes for our pupils.
