SeaCadets, a youth organise open to all sections of society do water activities. To do this safely we use a "safety boat" whenever the cadets are on water. we need a safer replacement

Sea Cadets, an organisatuion open to all young people 10 tro 18, and as the name suggests teaches hands-on training to many water based activities. these might include sailing, canoeing, rowing, windsurfing and paddle boarding. Having a good & reliable rescue boat "enables" our cadets and community to get on the water safely, they can also do power boat qualifications in the boat. Without a rescue boat on the water we can't run other water-borne activities. Our existing rescue boat is well passed its best.

Why it's a great idea:
Sea Cadets are a well established youth organisation, split into area units. The area of Accrington has a specifically strong, enthusiastic and well run unit. the area has many stretches of enclosed water (reservoirs, lodges, lakes etc) that enhance the unit's ability to entice youth, through joining the cadets, SAFE and well supervised fun on water. If we could replace our rescue vessel, we would have the option of supporting more cadets to join in activities they have never experienced. Following on from that, a fast, reliable rescue boat would allow us to make use of larger areas of water. new engines are much less corruptive to the atmosphere.

VolunteerSea Cadets is a youth based organisation that caters for all genders from 10 to 18. it hopes to bring organisation, fun, discipline and friendship to all cadets.
one of the activities run by Sea Cadets involves water. not just swimming but sailing and surfboarding and rowing and conoeing. all of these are are activities not normally available to many organisations. it is part of our activities because we ensure safety. The best way to avoid accidents is by training, but if there is a problem, a rescue boat is essential. if we cannot replace the one we have, we don't go on the water.
