Berryfields Parish is a Civil Parish in the Aylesbury Vale District.  It was created in May 2015 and it has ten councillors.  

Many residents are new to the area and have moved from London and other town and cities to secure affordable family homes in pleasant country surroundings with good rail, road and other public transport links. 

There are relatively few ‘locals’ and many residents are keen to meet new friends through leisure and sport activities, and to become part of a distinct village community.  

Berryfields Major Development Area (MDA) was given planning permission without provision of a community centre or village hall, which means that residents have nowhere of their own offering a permanent, affordable, venue for parties, family gatherings, fundraising events, scouts, WI, sports, arts, theatre and other community activities.

Roman Park is a large open space given to the community from by developers under the conditions of the development of the MDA.  It has been decided that since it is next to the train station, on a bus route, with a cycle route to Waddesdon and Aylesbury it is an ideal location for the community hub.  

The Parish Council asked residents what they wanted at the Park and tennis courts were a favourite sports facility.  There will also be a village hall complex, allotments are in place, extensive land areas devoted to wildlife conservation and nature reserve as well as a community orchard.  A play area is already built, a BMX pump track is planned as well as a cycle track, footpaths, outdoor exercise equipment and marked one km running track.  An accessible viewing mound will be at the centre of the Park taking advantage of the distant vistas to Waddesdon in the north, the Chiltern Hills to the east and the open and beautiful views.

Tennis courts will ensure a place for families and friends to enjoy sport together, with new players welcomed and coaching and other events planned.
