The RLF Wellbeing Project will focus on the wellbeing of the young people in the community of Hackney. A project, that will address the emotional, physical, physiological, dietary and health needs.

The RLF Wellbeing Project will work with young people in Hackney as an intervention and prevention to issues that arise through drug abuse, obesity, poor diet, mental health, alcohol abuse and deprivation.
We aim to educate the participants through master sessions, workshops and expert lessons, teaching the young people about the dangers of an unhealthy lifestyle, also ways in which to improve their lives through healthy, positive options.
The programme will last for 3 months with different tier groups to maximise the impact to each group. The group will primarily work with: drug & alcohol dependancy, the Obese, Not in Education or Employment (NEET) and free school meals (child carers).

Within the community there is a desperate need for a programme of this nature to be delivered to those most at need.
I was part of a group that ran an independent assessment of those most at risk in the community and found that there was a huge issue with: a large number of cases of obesity; huge cases of intakes to mental health hospitals with young people suffering from psychosis, nervous breakdowns and stress; alcohol and drug addiction, school students with lack of focus, tiredness, correct nutrition and starvation; lack of sexual health knowledge and one of the highest rates of HIV cases in the UK.
