Supporting projects, big and small, which help make Hull a better place to live, work and play.
2017 is the centenary of the 2000 Hull Pals that were killed in Oppy Wood, Northern France during the 1st world war. The people of Oppy have built a beautiful monument to remember them by yet all we have in Hull is a rock in a field on the outskirts of Orchard Park Estate with no markings on! I want to raise money, and awareness, by push biking to Oppy Wood next year. I then want to ask the people of Hull to design and commission a modern sculpture in honor of our brave lads and then have it make locally. It then needs to be placed somewhere in Hull were we can all celebrate and reflect. We cannot simply have a rock in a field! The timing could not be better as it is the centenary and it's the City of Culture 2017. Please back this great local project. Thank you Tony Bowler
