Refill Station Camden has just completed its first phase designing a zero waste and emissions refill station to offer job creation to a local trader selling ethically sourced cleaning and cleansing products. We know people, businesses and organisations are backing us to do more. Selling products unpackaged at affordable prices reaches out to everyone that wants to reduce their own ecological footprint right now. Phase 1b is to expand and create another 3 Refill stations from an abandoned garage and 2 bikes. We will design a web site that will allow people to book for visits and deliveries, particularly those unable to get out and about. It will inform and educate people about going un-packaged and what products we have carefully sourced and why. We will be up-skilling people to learn to build and fix e-bikes to support better greener networks and transport. This project is community led and supports local markets with 2 big eco-festive pop-up events showcasing that un-packaged works

What we'll deliver:

  • 3 new refill stations upcycled from waste
  • A new ethical community website
  • 2 zero waste eco-festive Easter pop-ups
  • Training and permanent local employment
  • Creation of a fair circular system for new local enterprise
  • Eucation and information for awareness about waste
  • Healthier local environments with less pollutants

Why it's a great idea:

This project was kick started last year, it now has over 50 stakeholders keen to see it expand. It is people led design and it uses local skills, resource and talent to create a new unique Refill Station suited to its own local community. It brings together designers, businesses and like minded education centres and organisations to pool their expertise and join forces to create each Refill Station. A roof top garden, a garage shop, a delivery bike a trailer market stall anything can like alchemy eventually be turned into a new refill Station enterprise. whatever we build supports job creation and sharing on a local scale where it is needed most. the ethical brand Refill Station Camden will be an overarching charity to mentor, train and provide ethical knowledge to each Refill Station. We know that there are others doing this across the UK they join us and we become a bigger supply chain network together.
