We want to secure and refurbish a long-term project base for Redwing arts and community hub with exhibition space, performance space, meeting room, affordable studios for artists, vegan cafe and open access facilities including including community kitchen, art studio, rehearsal space and office facilities. We have already raised £21,000 towards the project.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Redwing supports the many people who feel excluded by the mainstream art world. Marginalised artists will exhibit their work here, local artists rent affordable studios, local musicians, dancers and performers will rehearse and perform at Redwing. Local cash-strapped groups will be able to hold meetings and events in the much-loved building. Redwing is an inclusive project where people from all backgrounds can connect.
Steps to get it done:
The building is for sale on the open market. We must act quickly. If the building is sold to a private developer our project will have to vacate the building at short notice. In this case we would use any funds raised to find and purchase another base for the project.
