We will create add an additional section to our Red Light Busking website that allows young people from 16 to 25 who are in creative fields like music graphic design, art etc to be able to be hired in a similiar fashion to People Per Hour. To create awareness and bring in work opportunities we will run Red Light Busking events using YP's aged 16 to 25 to perform in shop windows. These performances will be recorded and placed on Youtube and Podcast platforms like Spotify. The website will work in a way where young people have profiles to showcase talents, plus linking to relevant youtube, Spotify channels. There will also be a chat facility and when hired Money will be held in escrow until the job is completed. To launch the new feature of the Red Light Busking website we'll put on 3 live performances that'll feature 6 artists. These YouTube recordings will then be sent as email campaigns to subscribers to our website, and will feature the YP's profiles.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The main aim for 4TY is to bring and create opportunities for young people who are from disadvantaged backgrounds, with this Red Light Busking Project, we'll create opportunities for the said young people by creating a website that has the potential for them to be hired in creative fields, especially during a time when so many work opportunities require creativity and an understanding of digital. The Red Light Busking event's themselves are sure to bring much talk and awareness, due to the unique nature of having people perform in shop spaces, making use of shop space creatively always gets people talking. Also due to the Previous Red Light Busking event being such a success, we already have subscribers, some being members of not only the public, but influential Waltham Forest council figures, showcasing the talent to this group allows more hiring opportunities for the young people.
Steps to get it done:
A few further points to run is that this project has the potential to run as a long term legacy project. As we'll be able to generate income from the website and video's, this will allow us to run more studio projects, which many of our young people initially come from, training them up so that they can perform. This performance will be video'd as part of the Red Light Busking series reaching even more people, and generating even more opportunities. Also as we have a partnership with FL Studio's which is a music creation software, not only will we be able to give young people of the project free FL Studio use, we will also be able to have Red Light Busking performances showcased to Fl Studio's large social media following. Lastly the usual price for a website as complex as what we're having made is £6000+, due to a very good working relations I have with a web developer we can get this down to £2000 with the rest benefit in kind.
