Our hall is about 70 years old and was donated from a factory that closed down. It has done us well, but is in desperate need of replacing, or a major over hall. We do try and raise funds ourselves but in this day and age that is not easy. We need the Electrics, heating and plumbing replaced and a new Kitchen fitted. We are a local Scout Group and have around 60 children that attend Scouting every week. Please consider our application as we are nearing the stage were the utilities will be condemned. What we'll deliver:
- Have a lovely new safe building for our young people to enjoy
- storage for our very expensive to replace camping equipment
- Install a new Kitchen
Why it's a great idea:
If we had a new building it would be fantastic for the young people.This would make our work with children aged 6 years to 18 years much easier and safer. if we had a new kitchen we would be able to help children learn to cook on proper stoves, we do teach them to cook but on camping stoves. Its surprising what we would be able to do with the children if we were able to get all our requests. The Leaders all give there time for free, we do not get paid, although a lot of people think we do. We do it because we want to help young people to grow up and be resourceful, and able to look after themselves and others.
Steps to get it done:

We hope that if we could get a new hall, that we would be able to open it up to the community for social gatherings, like afternoon tea for the Pensioners in our area. as our age concern place has had to reduce the hours they are open. There could be a lot of other things that we could do for the community. Social gatherings, and most importantly we could take more children into Scouting, We have a waiting list for all three sections, but the hall is not big enough to increase the size of each meeting. It would be lovely to have a new bigger Hall, but if that is not possible then a refurbished hall would help us a lot. Thank you.
