People make places great. We all have a stake in the towns, villages and communities of Kirklees.
Up to 10 people meet once a month on Sunday afternoon. Young people, all volunteers, arrange whose house will host the "party" and provide transport. Most of the old people are disabled , some are in their 90s and one man is registered blind and comes with his guide dog. The people come from all areas in Kirklees from Denby Dale to Fixby and all points in between.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Because it gets old people out of the house to chat and gives them an opportunity to dress up and they do.
Steps to get it done:
The volunteers who provide the food, their house and transport are wonderful. They deserve a treat too. There is another group in Huddersfield and we join with that group on special occasions.
