For the past few years, the residents of Wellfield Rd, Gleneldon Rd and Stanthorpe Triangle have been trying to gain access to the vacant land owned by Network Rail which lies between Wellfield and Gleneldon Roads to establish a community garden. Network Rail have now indicated they are willing to provide a plot on a six year lease. Western Riverside Environmental Fund have offered funds to help establish the garden. However we need to raise £5000 in order to meet the condition of obtaining this funding and this is where we need your help.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
These are some of the reasons why the community garden is important 1. Create a space for the local community to hold events 2. Access to green spaces for local residents without gardens 3. Promote the social and environmental well being of the area 4. Make better use of disused area which would otherwise attract fly tippers and vermin 5. Space for local groups, schools and others to use
