We would like to develop our premised so that we can provide a safe space for children and youth. They will be able to use the facilities for sports, recreational area and provide educational classes. We would also like to redevelop the washroom facilities so that people can use washroom facilities after games and sports. Finally, we would like to purchase sports equipment for people to use and this will increase their motivation, self-esteem, health & well being and overall life expectancy.

Why it's a great idea:
We have had a huge demand within the local community to provide an area where people can come and play sports and general safe space/hang out area. This means that the youth will be in an area where they will not be involved in knife crime, theft, vandalism and drugs. We hope to support around 500 children and youth initially. The areas we work in are the most socially deprived in the city and we reach a wide demographic within the BAME community. Here is a snapshot of the pressing needs of our service users: High levels of at-risk behaviours presenting in 14-18-year-olds. This group need to be supported to stay safe, avoid crime, avoid substance abuse, manage behaviour, and build coping mechanisms. Violent crime is a serious community problem with knife crime convictions jumping 42% in Leicestershire between 2016/2017 and 2017/2018. High levels of child poverty - 44% of Leicester residents live in the 20% most deprived areas in England (Leicester City Council statistics)
Steps to get it done:
We will also hold regular classes to create awareness of crime, drugs and promote our volunteering initiatives. We also provide support for people to get into further education and also support people into getting into employment.

VolunteerWe have recently taken on-premises with a huge capacity to deliver projects due to the nature of the building and location. Our aim is to provide educational support, health and wellbeing and community cohesion projects over the next 5 years.
We are a registered charity with 2 key objectives to promote education and provide recreational safe space for the community.
This year we hope to deliver over 150 activities across the year and cater for over 1000 children, youth and adults per week.
Project Owner: Raedan Institute The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
