We have been awarded an FM licence by Ofcom allowing us to promote well being & health matters to a broader audience but urgently need new equipment to make it happen!

Our new FM licence will allow us to reach a much wider audience and promote well being & health matters but we need new studio equipment like transmitters and computers and production racks and microphones and specialist engineering assistance, in order to make it happen. We also need to produce new branding and posters to tell people who we are and how we are changing. We transmit to three hospitals in Newcastle and Gateshead Ie The Freeman The RVI and The Queen Elizabeth in Gateshead. Our listening figures on the Hospedia Bed sets are the highest they receive in the Country with the QE being 70% On air since 1951 transmitting to the hospitals of Newcastle & Gateshead and 1575AM. We've just been awarded the Queens award for Voluntary Services as we are entirely run by volunteers 24/7 365 days a year.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We are already seen as a great station with the highest listening figures in the country on Hospedia, this will make our signal stronger reaching more elderly vulnerable lonely people in the area. Helping them live longer by promoting healthy living options and allowing them to stay in their own homes longer. We have specialist shows produced by our volunteers like "The Geordie Hour" focusing on all things Geordie. "New Day Dawning" our weekly religious show. "Classics from the Terrace" our light classical show and many many more.
Steps to get it done:
We have won many awards from the Hospital Broadcasting Association including Gold awards for some specialist programmes and Station of the Year Awards. To add to this we have just been awarded to Queens Award for Voluntary work, the MBE for charities. We are entirely run by Volunteers 7 days a week 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
