Martin Lawrence was a Malvern Town Councillor in 2014, given the electoral roll he was aware of the high number of Malvern residence living in single occupancy; further inquiries confirmed that many such residence had been bereaved having lost their life partner. Joined by a small team of amazing volunteers we set about restoring in residents that ESSENTIAL ZEST4LIFE, desperately needed CONVERSATION and LAUGHTER, with a weekly Breakfast get-together, 10.30 am every Wednesday morning, hiring the venue THE OCTAGON HALL in Brook Farm Drive Malvern; we provide what many yearned for, CONVERSATION and LAUGHTER and occasional musical events we called MUSICAL MEDICINE. Our volunteers collect and distribute Supermarket surplus food, even bouquets of flowers, these are both made available at ZEST4LIFE and doorstep-delivered within Malvern. ZEST4LIFE CONVERSATION & LAUGHTER has been recognized with award certificates by MHDC for "IMPROVING LIVES". Anyone can join us, they just turn up;

What we'll deliver:

• Meet the cost of insurance that will allow Zest4Life to function
• Meet the cost of fuel to enable free food doorstep-deliveries to continue
• Pay for training and food safety certification for anyone willing to supervise our events
• Replace any equipment that is vital to delivery of our project
• Provide a free breakfast for volunteers or carers transporting otherwise house-bound residents to our event
• Birthday cards will be provided for anyone having a birthday and heartwarming "Happy Birthday to You" is sung
• Purchase and provide food containers so that surplus foods can be taken home

Why it's a great idea:

Anyone can come to our ZEST4LIFE CONVERSATION & LAUGHTER, in 2022 our two-course meal and endless beverages only costs £5 a head; if, say, 20 people attend then £2.50 of the £5 pays to hire the hall, leaving just £2.50 per head for two courses and endless beverages. Our free food doorstep-delivery will continue. We provide and load-up toy Water-Pistols so that older folk can behave badly just for the sheer fun of it. Lonely or isolated residents will have their birthday celebrated with a card and "Happy Birthday to You"

Steps to get it done:

• Getting our annual Insurance paid when due in October 2022
• Planning our Christmas event for 28th December

We sometimes need to close our event due to lack of trained volunteers, funding will allow us to provide on-line training and certification that is vital for the event to remain open.
