This will be a social enterprise project none profit / charity.giving life and purpose to an unused building. This will create new jobs and help the less fortunate to buy products for their homes.this will be mainly furniture donated and repaired / re branded from companies. Profit will be used to train people on courses that will assist in gaining employment such as forklift training other course will be added.once trained it is our intention to employ them with my community employment agency. I am really passionate about putting this programme together However I need help.

What we'll deliver:

  • Affordable furniture /products
  • Creating jobs and helping people to gain employment
  • Training people to get them job ready
  • Working with HMP offenders giving them job experience on ROTL and after prison
  • Getting job's and employing

Why it's a great idea:

I am an ex offender. I have rebuilt my life and want to give something back. While I was in jail I worked with Refurnish and have knowledge and contacts I will need. After jail I worked for Prosper4 helping ex offender to gain employment. I have lots of knowledge and contact's which I will need. Before prison I was a forklift instructor / HGV driver /manager. While working for Prosper4 I noticed a lot of ex offender lacked job skills. So I went back and updated my forklift instructors licence and opened a training centre. The training centre is working well mostly training compannies and private trainees, however my purpose for opening is not been met. I work with the job centre and with some charties to help ex offender but there is a lack of funds to help both the unemployed and ex.offenders. There is no one doing what I am wanting to put in place. Self fund + Re train + Gain employment.

Steps to get it done:

  • First years rent / rates and wages to pay staff
  • stock

Need funds for rent and rates for the furniture shop. The shop will create jobs both in the shop and out e.g. sales / repairs /rebuilds it will also employ drivers delivery and house clears. There will be the opportunity for offenders to do work experience.
