The Green Quarter

As part of our work at The Green Quarter, a programme is being launched to provide local grants between up to £5,000 to community organisations, social enterprises, and charities to deliver a wide range of activities that benefit residents.  Each year £25,000 will be made available.  A maximum of one grant per organisation per year is the limit.

Grants can cover either capital costs of a project e.g. building a shed, or the revenue spending required to operate the project e.g. salary costs, hiring a venue, or day-to-day expenditure on materials for the project.

We are looking for community groups, charities, tenant or residents’ associations, social enterprises, or wider interest groups who are looking to undertake projects in the areas outlined above that fit within the following four areas:

• Skills, training, and employment

• Culture and heritage

• Health and wellbeing

• Sustainability and the environment

Projects being crowdfunded on the Spacehive platform will be assessed that fit within the identified areas and categories, with the final decision on grants made by our Community Steering Group, made up of local community representatives and residents.
