City Mayor's Community Engagement Fund
This fund will support projects to help eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation; advance equality of opportunity; and foster good relations between different groups and communities.
Projects we're interested in funding
I want to fund activities, initiatives and projects that can make a real difference to the quality of life for some communities of Leicester, particularly ones that are normally considered “underserved”, “hard to reach” or “difficult to engage”.
I want to support innovative projects, addressing a genuine need that isn't being met in any other way.
I want to hear from those who can help bring us closer to achieving the vision of a city with a sense of shared identity, common purpose and civic responsibility; refresh and renew the City Council's relations with the Voluntary and Community Sector; and enable flexible, imaginative and innovative responses to challenges and opportunities facing the City Council, citizens and communities of Leicester.
The outcomes of our fund
As well as a having a persuasive description of what the project will involved, those successful projects must also show what benefits and outcomes will be achieved.
I'm looking for projects that can identify and break down real or perceived barriers, projects that can improve trust, cooperation and understanding among different groups; projects that can help make Leicester a welcoming and accepting place for new and emerging communities.
