Cycling UK

Joined Spacehive on 01 September 2022

Cycling UK is a national charity focused on breaking down the barriers to cycling and making it accessible to a wider group of people. Organisations in Kirklees can apply for grants of up to £3,000 for projects which help adults to start or return to cycling. We have two funding programmes:

Community Cycle Clubs

Groups can receive funding to start a ‘club’ which provides either a regular cycle ride or bike fixing session. The Community Cycle Clubs grant can cover the cost of the training and equipment needed to start the club. This can include ride leader training, first aid training, maintenance training, and the purchase of bikes, tools, and helmets.

The Big Bike Revival

The Big Bike Revival provides funding to deliver free events which help communities to start cycling. The activities we can fund include repair sessions (Dr Bikes), learn to cycle or cycle skills sessions, bike maintenance classes, and led rides. The 2022 programme funds events from May through to October 31.

Cycling UK is keen to work with not for profit organisations, volunteer led groups, social enterprises, CICs, independent cycling instructors and mechanics and community bike shops.
