ABOUT PONY RESCUE & THE CARE FARM Set in a beautiful part of Leicestershire the farm is a traditional small working farm with a couple of differences; Firstly we are a small organisation that rescues, rehabilitates and then rehomes unwanted, neglected and injured horses, ponies, sheep. pigs, goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, hedgehogs and other wild and domestic animals. secondly we are a Care Farm. Our aim is to provide a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for a range of vulnerable people giving them the opportunity to take part in the daily activities on the farm. This includes care of the animals, growing vegetables and fruit, farm maintenance, working as part of a team and learning new skills. We have a wide range of livestock including pigs, sheep, cows, goats, horses and chickens. Not to mention an assortment of small animals and of course the odd visiting buzzard and kestral.

What we'll deliver:

  • Portable toilet block with disabled access
  • Gravel for driveway and paths for wheelchair access
  • New Benches for users to relax
  • Stables

Why it's a great idea:

Not only will this create an income that will support and increase the work of the rescue centre but more importantly it will allow more vulnerable adults and children to connect with wildlife and the environment. Learning about rural life and rare breed farm animals.

Steps to get it done:

  • installing pathways and carparking
  • siting the toilet, incorporating access paths and landscaping
  • Purchasing a portable toilet with disabled access
  • purchasing gravel for footpaths and wheelchair access
