We offer play therapy to children aged between 6 – 12 years. Play is a natural part of childhood and we encourage our children to express themselves in this way in order for them to show how they feel without feeling the pressure of explaining emotions that they do not have words for yet. Play is also where children feel comfortable enough to let their worries be played out and they are able to bring the therapist into their world and show them what they feel and they can then explore this together. We support children from a variety of different backgrounds with a vast range of emotional difficulties.

What we'll deliver:

• Buy floor mat for painting
• Buy new seating
• Purchase new generic toys (paint, paper, glue, shapes, a new sand tray, cars, lego ect)
• Purchase therapy based toys (emotions cards, movable face and more puppets)
• We will paint the room

Why it's a great idea:

It is a great idea because emotional health is so valuable and we need to recognise and nurture it.
Our emotions are something that change through most of our life and can affect us in both positive and negative ways. Through play therapy our children begins to understand their emotions and how to express, understand and use them. We know that play is the best way to support children and their difficult feelings.
In order for us to give the children what they need, in this environment, we would like to have the most inclusive space possible as well as the most useable resources.
