We are are hoping to resurface our primary schools playground from tarmac to multi sports surface . This will massively improve the children’s daily life in school and also open up a wider variety of sports the school can offer. It will also benefit the wider community as the sports surface will be available to sports groups to access when the school is not open eg weekends . We have 2/3rds for the funds (£20k) and our looking for help with funding the balance 12k which we are trying to raise by the end of the academic year in order to complete the resurfacing in the school summer holidays . Our school is based in Henley on Thames in south Oxfordshire.

Why it's a great idea:

The benefits will be to all the children currently at the school , and children and adults of the wider community to access a sports surface that can offer more sports opportunities than there is currently on offer.

We are a state funded primary school of 190 pupils , we the PTA are a registered charity and serve to encourage the engagement of parents and friends to our school. We raise money for school funds to provide extra equipment, books and subsidies . All our current available funds are committed to this project along with the majority of the schools pe budget - we just need help with the balance 12k to get the project completed . Please do not underestimate what significant impact this will have on our wonderful school , the children’s playtime’s , pe and sporting clubs will be transformed and hopefully will lead to a lifetime of engagement in physical activity
