We want to collectively buy a bike-powered cinema for the Hull community, and set up a booking system so that it can be used freely by community groups, festivals.

The idea is simple: the energy generated from members of the audience cycling together on bicycle generators is combined and used to power a projector, speaker, mixer and DVD player. The cyclists thus become the batteries generating the electricity to power an innovative experience of cinema.

With your pledge we will buy all necessary equipment from Electric Pedals and create a booking system to distrubute it from its resident home on the Thornton Estate (Estate of The Nation).

What we'll deliver:

• Buy a bicycle-powered cinema system from Electric
• Host a launch cinema event
• Maintain the cinema
• Create online booking service for the bike cinema
• Run training workshops for key community groups using the cinema

It will give Hull communities crucial ownership of their own bicycle powered cinema system which can be used in and outdoors. It's an asset that can be used repeatedly to bring the people of Hull together, in new or old forgotten spaces.
