Palmers Green celebrates its community with an annual festival in Broomfield Park. Entry has always been free but as our festival has become more successful the more expensive it has become. Volunteers can no longer change a public park very early in the morning into a festival venue for 6000 visitors and almost 300 partners and then have it all cleared again ready to be a public park the following day. We now need qualified stewards and other professional help to ensure everything runs smoothly and of course, safely. We would really like to reward the musicians who fill our two stages all day to help with everyone’s enjoyment. Our budget has never allowed for that, rather relying on their goodwill to play for free; now we would like to call on yours to change that. So we would accept and appreciate any donation offered to help say thank-you to them all. And if you’re a local business, why not ask us about our sponsorship opportunities?

The festival has been running for five years with Festival 2015 seeing over 6000 local people enjoying their park with their neighbours. The event encourages our community to dance the day away in the beautiful setting of Broomfield Park.
Steps to get it done:

This free community event has been awarded “annual” status in our community’s social diary by the thousands of local people who enjoy the event each year.
We need your help to continue its success and make it happen again in 2016.
The Festival is organised by a few local volunteers but it brings together over six thousand local people, sole traders, charities, and community groups all of which help to transform Broomfield Park into a dancing, musical community centre for one day of the year. ......Help us bring back this successful free community in 2016
The Palmers Green Festival is a not for profit free community festival run entirely by volunteers.
The Festival began in 2010 as a small event but has now gained "annual status" in Palmers Green’s cultural diary and is visited by over (6000) six thousand visitors from Palmers Green and beyond who join together to enjoy this free community event with over a hundred stalls; small sole traders, local businesses, charities and community groups and activities for all the family.
Our aim for the Festival is to celebrate our diverse community and its neighbouring towns....We want it to be owned by the community for the community.
All the Festival organisers work on a voluntary basis and in 2014 the Festival was established as a not-for-profit community interest company (CIC) run by trustees. The Festival has only just started to break even financially. We had planned to invest any profit back into the event to ensure that the Palmers Green Festival remains financially sustainable for everyone to enjoy free of charge.
Our Friendship Network Project
In the 2014 Festival we set up in partnership with the Ruth Winston Centre for the over 50's a Community Friendship Zone in which we hosted a number of charity and community organisations in Enfield working to support older people to help prevent loneliness and encourage people to participate in local activities. We have also begun to develop partnerships with local organisations to provide information for older people on what facilities are available that they might need or want to join in.
