Help us create a covered outdoor reading space within the school grounds where children can relax on a bench or comfy cushions, submerge into their chosen literature and be lost in that moment.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
The school has seen much needed change recently through a newly appointed head and a much improved school report, but we require some help to continue it to flourish and keep up to date with the curriculum. We (the parent council, teachers and pupils of Bowmore Primary) really want to improve reading for everyone in the school. Special attention may be needed for those that struggle with reading and are disengaged or dyslexic, however we also want to maintain enthusiasm of those who love reading already. We would ideally love to create a space which offers a roof, no walls, and seating. Including a fixed wooden bench but also provide out door cushions/bean bags for the children to choose their preference. Storage would be required for the cushions as well.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The project would develop reading, create an inclusive environment but more so allow the children to learn and get involved together, the area itself would encourage more outdoor teaching as it allows shelter or shade if necessary.
