We will do this by, supporting the young people to create art work which will be displayed for the public to view, hosting musical workshops in partnership with the Ilfracombe College, music department, encouraging members of the community, including the young people, to take part in an open mic session and inviting local perfomers to provide entertainment attendees and also take part in interactive workshops.

Throughout the day we will be providing, food and drink, raffles and competitions.

What we'll deliver:

• Organise the partnership agencies attending the event.
• Bring the community together to bridge the gaps between the different generations.
• Promoting the positive work of the young people within the community.
• Support the young people to perform and take part in the activities and workshops.

Why it's a great idea:

Because of the rural nature of North Devon, the opportunities available to young people are limitted, particularly in the performing arts area. We hope to build the asperations, confidence and emotional wellbeing of the young people living in North Devon area, by providing opportunities, that would otherwise be unavailable and unaffordable to them.
The event will raise awareness of issues faced by young people in rural areas and will promote the services available to them. We hope to reduce the stigmatization of young people, particularly of those unemployed and not in education, by showcasing their skills and abilities to the local community and potential employers.
