An ambitious project for a small charity but our HQ is coming to the end of a 50 year lease and due to age and condition is far from ideal for the 21st Century. A purpose built HQ is the way forward.

In partnership with Relph Ross Partnership, the Marine society & Sea Cadets has procured a standard design, specification and construction for a Sea Cadet Unit new build which can be tailored to local Unit needs and circumstances.
Basic features (for up to 24 cadets and 8 adults) are listed below but there is an ability to expand the size of modular build for up to 100 cadets:
Drill Hall and Main Deck. Small Main Deck, approx. 12x9m to a large deck in region of 18x9m. Classrooms (x2) each for 8-12 cadets at any one time. Separate changing rooms, drying room, showers and WCs for adults and cadets (male and female). Kitchen facilities. Separate offices (x 2). Storage facilities for clothing equipment and kit. Armoury. Outside storage space for limited number of boats (canoes, toppers, dinghies). Outside space for parade and separate parking.
We anticipate modifications to cater for 50 cadets and in partnership with 2 other local organisations on a shared basis.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The Sea Cadets aim to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun by offering a fantastic cadet experience that inspires young people through fun and adventurous nautical activity to learn and develop new skills that give them a head start in life.
Whether at sea or on land, the Sea Cadets offers young people across the UK amazing opportunities for personal development - by learning new skills and working in teams - we offer an environment where young people find new confidence and inspiration.
At Southwark we take part in all kinds of competitions from music, power boating and sailing, to football and Drill, plus learn nautical skills as you complete your training.
Not only will it be fun, but your new skills will give you a head start in life and boost your confidence – weekends will never be the same again! And to achieve such things we need state-of-the-art facilities and next on our top ten list is the best Sea Cadet HQ in London.
