An eight week cricket project, which aims to introduce the game of cricket to boys and girls, aged 8-11 years old. This project is an initiative launched by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in November 2019, following the success of England in the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Dynamos Cricket looks to inspire the next generation of crickets, to fall in love with the game and to continue playing for the club that has hosted the project, once it finishes. How Dynamos Cricket looks to inspire and create a passion for cricket is by offering the participants and their parents the following: - An 8 week programme, ran and structured by a trained activator(s) - Access to the Dynamos cricket app, providing users exclusive content to this project - All particpants will recieve their own coloured kit, maufactured by New Balance - Access to money can't buy opportunities, such as media days, tickets to The Hundred competition, as well as the chance to meet their heroes
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Improved health and wellbeing - through an increase number of children playing sport and looking to live an active lifestyle. this project will also look to inspire and encourage children to carry on playing after the project closes, by joining the club and/or playing with friends in park for example. Improved social skills - as a result of working with other children that they have never met before, and the project's sessions requiring teamwork and communication skills. Improvement to society - sessions encourage parent involvement and for them to carry on learning outside of the sessions by playing games in the garden/park Improved club sustainability - as a result of the club being able to improve its relationships with schools, local business and communities as a result of involving them in the Dynamos project and them experiencing the same above benefits of improved health and wellbeing, social skills and to society in general
