The building will become home to a number of village facilities. These will include the Takeley Youth Club, the Community Cafe, Citizens Advice Outreach, Uttlesford Food Bank & Parish Council Office

The building is currently out of use as needs extensive refurbishment. The roof is leaking and there are big cracks in the walls which need underpinning. It currently needs all of its windows replacing. Eventually we hope to raise more funds via grants to build an extension and have an extra hall.

Why it's a great idea:
It will provide a long lasting facility for the community. Our community cafe will provide a vibrant social setting. The foodbank being incorporated into the opening hours will provide a discreet social setting and the outreach citizens advice will mean anyone may obtain advice. We also look forward to providing the local youth club with a permanent base.
Steps to get it done:
The foodbank, outreach citizen advice centre, community cafe and parish archive is currently being provided in a short termed leased building. The refurbishment of the school house will provide some permanence.
