OASIS Community Play

OASIS Community Centre & Gardens By OASIS Community Centre & Gardens

We want to enhance our Park with exciting new play items for children of all ages! The landscaped areas have basic playground equipment, but we'll improve the site with more activities for play.

We are looking to install more play equipment in the three play areas of the gardens: the climbing and slide area, the play area for children with special physical needs, and the soft play pre-school area.

We'll introduce a roundabout that can be used by wheelchair users as well as non wheelchair children. We want to put a further climbing tree piece of equipment and put a play hut in the Wildflower meadow and nature area, to be used by our Nature Quest Club and for general play.

There will also be a set of play pieces for the soft play pre-school area, a climbing and slide activity, spring rockers, a house or boat-style play piece and some other pieces around the site including some children's toadstool seats and other items.

What we'll deliver:

  • Install new seating area
  • Install play equipment
  • Prepare the site and groundworks
  • Purchase items of play equipment

Why it's a great idea:

Because it will make the OASIS a more exciting and adventurous site for the local children of our area. These new additions will add and enhance play and fitness experiences for the children.

This phase of work will make the Oasis project an even more usable site and enable the groups working with children and young people to do far more - offering greater play, sports and well-being experiences. We will be able to provide more children with fun recreational experiences, which will give more families new opportunities.

Our community has been disadvantaged and we believe that the children of this generation deserve much more. This project will offer them a greatly enhanced local site which will give them more possibilities.

We want our site to be the very best, with the best equipment and play items for the greatest level of experience possible. We have been working with Playdale Playgrounds to plan and budget for the necessary additions to the site.

Steps to get it done:

  • Once we have raised funding we will work with Playdale to build, install and commission the work.
  • We will use volunteers to prepare the site where possible and use professional people where we need their expertise.
