Nurturing Natures Family Hub ensures families young and old, are able to experience and embrace the magic of life through a wide variety of support services. We provide a calm and nurturing environment that not only offers comfort, care and education to the youngest generations but we develop our community to build more resilient, happy people who can look at the world with wonder and awe. We are passionate about the wellbeing of all families, regardless of age or size and together we dream that we will build a capable and inspirational community filled with love and happiness. We dream that we can develop a strong and healthy community base for not only our children to grow, learn and develop in but that will inspire future generations. Every child deserves the best start in life, Every family should feel valued and supported and most of all together we should be a community of strength, able to embracing individuality and celebrate uniqueness.

What we'll deliver:

  • Support groups and services for our local community
  • A new community space complete with beverage facilities
  • A unique child led environment for learning focused around wellbeing.

Why it's a great idea:

Our project will enable us to provide a childcare facility that not only nurtures young children but guides them through unique learning journeys, at a pace that can support each individual need inclusively. We aim to boost aspirations of children and their families and show them they deserve a bright future. We are committed to focusing on wellbeing and thus focus on developing personal, social and emotional skills in a world of play and by becoming actively involved within our local community, focusing on not just our children but in our adults too. Our links within the community will provide a nurturing a sense of belonging to even our most vulnerable people, in a bid to combat social issues such as isolation, loneliness and poor mental health. We want to go that one step further than an average childcare facility and become the heart of the community. We aim to support families holistically and will provide wellbeing services as well as support groups and social opportunities.

Steps to get it done:

  • Ensuring the premises is fit for purpose
  • Opening the hub
  • Introducing support groups

There are over 700 houses being built within the town (due to be completed Dec 2021) with no current plans to further extend any existing services which are already very limited or at near full capacity. These houses are being built as 'family homes' but there is a significant lack of family services within the area such as Surestart centres, Community centres and support hubs. Our GP surgeries, healthcare services and other organisations such as Social services, CAMHS and Talk Derbyshire are severely over subscribed as it is. With families moving into the area, or extending through the lockdown baby boom, childcare is very much in demand. Covid-19 has put heavy financial strain on many families forcing parents to work for longer hours or extended hours and there is a growing need for new childcare provisions. Existing provisions are already bursting at the seams and many are now constructing lengthy waiting lists.
