The flooring in the main hall of the community centre is currently cracked and rough. We would like to have this modernised and updated to a hard wearing resin flooring that would last many years and allow us to continue to use the centre to capacity. The centre is a vital part of the community we live in and we have lots of groups and activities which rely on using the centre. If the floor gets into a such a bad state of repair we will have to reduce these and this would intern impact what was available to the residents.

The benefits of the centre floor being replaced and updated will allow the centre to continue to be a central part of the community by all groups and beneficiaries not having to be reduced. Or in worse case closing the use of the main hall within the centre.

VolunteerWe are a voluntery run organisation in the heart of Walker, one of the most depivered areas in newcastle upon tyne with high level of unemploymnet and low income familys as well as anti social behaviour. We run a reguler Youth club/family hub for children and their families within the community. During these sessions we provide a hot meal as well as arts, crafts, games and activities. We also run asummer playscheme during the school holidays as well as other events throughout the year.
Project Owner: Monkchester Community Association CIO The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
