We are a community centre for the borough of Wigan Greater Manchester, we were funded for the local cricket and rugby teams, along with local girl guides and boys brigade in 2007. We are a registered charity and it is our aim to provide a safe, disability friendly facility accessible for all groups of the community. Today we are the home of disability and community groups such as think ahead stroke group, Parkinson’s UK, green crew CIC, Upper GI support, NHS diabetes support, and the ileostomy association. We are also heavily used by the NHS, and Wigan council and many more for ad hoc sessions such as blood donations. We currently have thousands of visitors each week of all ages. Some of our users who are based onsite full time have additional needs such as autism and learning difficulties, it is important that they have this facility for their daily life routine. Our chairs are now old worn and in desperate need of replacing ofr our fantastic groups.
