The funds raised will help us to deliver Anti-Knife Crime and Trauma Awareness Workshops virtually. Narrative Empowerment workshops will be delivered on a quarterly basis to schools, colleges, universities, criminal justice organisations, youth/community centres, and within community facilities. - the dragon software, laptops and stationary will be used to help participant to document and record their stories and some funds will cover the expenses of running the workshops. -other funds will be used for advertising and marketing

What we'll deliver:

  • 1) Four workshops (one each quarter) throughout 2020/2021 in Education Establishments in LBHF and the surrounding areas,
  • 2) The Dragon software, laptops and stationery to allow participants to document & record their stories.
  • 3) An opportunity to promote positive change in the Hammersmith & Fulham Borough.
  • 4) A platform to motivate people facing adversity and inspire others
  • 5) Delivery of virtual workshop 20 children per week

Why it's a great idea:

Our workshops aim to intervene young people at an early stage, informing young people to the risks of knife crime as well as providing sign posting support. The creators of Narrative Empowerment Project workshop have lived experience of adversity and know how powerful it can be to tell your story and use it to inspire/motivate others within LBHF to make sure the community have a voice. We aim to reach high risk young people involved in gangs and serious youth violence, providing therapeutic outreach and practical support, placing a priority on building strong and trusting relationships. Through our work, we know the importance of early intervention, and helping young children feel connected to their communities and society. Our project aims to do exactly this - connecting at-risk children and those who work in the education sector through our virtual workshops.

Steps to get it done:

  • Reach out to local organisations to deliver are workshop
  • reach our crowdfunding target
  • Provide laptops for our sessions to allow us to build week on week
  • Research different fulfilling and engaging activities for young people
