The Nakuru all weather basketball courts are a project that was initiated by Basketball without limits after seeing how youths and teenagers in the county were suffering to access playable courts as most are either owned by schools or churches and hence when this institutions have other events they are hosting basketball lovers are affected. With the NAWAB courts this will change as they will be public to everyone and through this project the youths will have a chance to not only develop their talents but also develop themselves as we will ensure we mentor then on different aspects as well as help them get to choose career paths hat align with their interest.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Basketball is not just an upcoming sport in Nakuru, but a much-loved sport. The main objective of NAWAB courts project is to build all weather basketball courts within Nakuru town that will be accessible to all basketball lovers at all times. To engage the youth in meaningful basketball activity during their free time To nurture and mentor the abundant nascent basketballtalent in Nakuru town and the surrounding areas. To host major basketball tournaments both locally and nationally. To incorporate the neighbouring communities through different programmes of beneficial to them to partner with different organisation in helping the youths attain personal career developments
Steps to get it done:
BASKETBALL WITHOUT LIMITS Basketball without limits (BWL) is an association of like-minded youth in Nakuru bound together by their love for basketball. The group was formed by the need to freely enjoy the game of basketball without being limited by facilities and equipment to play the game. The unavailability of basketball courts in nakuru town meant for the public is a major factor that brought the youth together. In the town, all the basketball courts that are playable are owned by institutions, public and private learning institutions and churches. Access to these facilities is obviously limited and dependent on many other factors outside the control of the basketball lovers. And with the Corona virus pandemic COVID-19, the situation worsened as these institutions had to comply with the Government regulations to ensure that the spread of the virus is limited. Whereas we cannot gainsay the huge role these institutions have played in nurturing nascent talent.
