My French Digital at Birmingham Libraries aims to enable residents of Birmingham, to acquire French language skills through hybrid (online and face-to-face) French courses provision for all levels
I am Laurence Bassingha, a resident of Handsworth, a French language teacher-researcher, and the president of Lib’Active, an organisation whose mission is to promote the French language through French courses. My French Digital project at Birmingham Libraries aims to enable residents of Birmingham, particularly those of Handsworth who are job seekers, young people, adults, stay-at-home parent, marginalised people, or people with a disability, and BAME residents, to acquire French language skills through hybrid (online and face-to-face) French courses for beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners. I aim to promote French reading in libraries. Establish a French language department in the library with digital, book, and documentation resources. Our objective is to broaden the availability of French language education by providing workshops that cover reading, sociolinguistics, digital technology, and culture, and various aspects of French language education.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
My French Digital aims to enable residents of Birmingham, particularly those of Handsworth who are job seekers, young people, adults, stay-at-home parent, marginalised people, or people with a disability, to gain French language skills through hybrid (online and face-to-face) French courses for beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners. The learners and people willing to attend the olympics games 2024 will learn a new culture, they will enhance their speaking skills. Student preparing exams will get help in French and will succeed in their study, and will apply for international jobs. People affected by social exclusion and marginalisation will be taught French. Handsworth NEETS will learn new skills, meet new people and discover French culture.
Steps to get it done:
This project is also a great choice for those going to Paris for the Olympics, planning to study in France, or taking French exams..
