Bird Boxes for Brimmington Park
Bird Boxes for Brimmington Park joined Southwark Hive1 month ago

There are a surprising variety of birds living in Brimmington Park and the surrounding area and local residents enjoy spotting them. There's even a woodpecker living nearby who can be heard in the park if you're lucky! Friends of Peckham East is a group of volunteers from the area who work to promote and protect our green spaces. We wish to increase the bird population including hoping to attract rarer birds. And we wish to inspire a love of birds in the many young children who regularly visit the park. We will be commissioning a local artist to create unique homes for birds which we will install in Brimmington Park. There will be an information station to give children more information about the bird boxes. And a fun map to follow which will encourage children to look up and look around them in the park. The map will be distributed to local children's groups and via FOPE website and we'll have an open event one afternoon in the park too.
