We are open to the types of ideas which come forward – they must however directly benefit your local community. Example projects might be, the greening of an unused space, a local exhibition, a community street party, brightening up a wall with a mural or buying some essential equipment for your organisation etc.
The projects can be temporary or permanent such as a pop-up event or seating area during the summer, or a more permanent improvement to a space.
Your project must be tangible meaning that something must be created or changed. You cannot run a project to raise money for the general running costs of an organisation - for example, staff costs or rent.
However, if you were holding an exhibition and part of the costs included rent of the space and the cost of a programme manager for a few weeks to this would be acceptable, as they are essential costs associated with the delivery of the project.
Funding sought solely for an individual person, trips or holidays, an animal charity or a medical research charity are not eligible. Lastly projects need to happen in a place which is broadly open and welcoming to general members of the public. This does not mean that it must be open to the public all the time e.g. the local school, but it cannot be happening in a private residence which is only accessible to a small group of people.
The Our Mayfair & Belgravia Community fund has been created by Grosvenor whose vision is to make Mayfair & Belgravia more active, inclusive and integrated, with better streets, greener spaces and enterprising places that appeal to a broader range of people. The fund is therefore designed to support projects that embody the spirit of this vision.
We also want to support projects which are generated from within, and owned by, the community giving everyone a great making #OurMayfair&Belgravia a better place for everyone.
Submit your project for verification. Verification is undertaken by an independent third party called Locality. They check that the appropriate permissions and plans are all in place for the project to be successfully achieved once you hit your crowdfunding target.
Run your crowdfunding campaign. Projects must have started crowdfunding by 31 January 2020.
Matched projects will also be able to pitch for an investment from the Our Mayfair & Belgravia Community Fund. Projects crowdfunding as part of this programme can receive a pledge of up to 50% of their target up to £5,000.
