How much can you pledge?
Moat Foundation can pledge up to the following sums per project:
up to £5,000 per project (for Pollards Hill – London Borough of Merton)
up to £3,000 for Stanhope in Ashford, Kent
up to £1,500 for Maldon
A Moat Foundation pledge can be for a maximum of 50% of the total project target. E.g if your project is in Stanhope and costs £4,000 in total, Moat Foundation can pledge up to £2,000.
Who can apply?
Moat Foundation welcomes applications from the following categories of people & organisations:
Moat Customers or Customer Groups, Local Charities ( please see regions listed below) or Community Interest Companies, other (special interest groups e.g. environmental sustainability groups, support groups for people of different ages, community arts & craft, health & wellbeing groups, etc), Community Groups or individual residents (provided they have the support of the local community).
Moat Foundation are interested in supporting our customers and communities to thrive.
Residents will have the chance to propose and crowdfund transformative projects that will benefit the local community but in particular projects which demonstrate the below:
Enhance the local area and environment for Moat Customers and the wider community
Promote community engagement and involvement in local projects and activities

Promote equality and diversity and community cohesion

Share and collect pledges
Once your project is up and running, share news of your project via as many means possible, on and off line to start raising funds and boost local support before your pitch for funding is assessed by Moat Foundation. Spacehive offers helpful tips and resources on how to do this along the way.
Access Moat Foundation funds
Spacehive will connect you exclusively with the Moat Foundation Community Fund on the platform. Work with Spacehive to develop your pitch on the platform and put yourself in the best possible position to secure a contribution.
Continue securing support from your backers in the form of lots of small pledges to demonstrate local buy-in for your project. That’s what the Moat Foundation will want to see when they assess your pitch!
Your pitch will be assessed for a pledge at assessments taking place at regular intervals throughout the year.
You could receive up to 50% of your crowdfunding target, up to a maximum of £5,000 depending on which of the three locations your project is based.
Hit your target and deliver your project
Once you hit your crowdfunding target, you’ll receive your funds within a few weeks and you can start delivering your project.
