Children and parents separated because of lies and deception by the authorities for profit. Taking children from vunrable parents through private courts knowing the families have no financial support to fight back. And on grounds of likelyhood of neglect/or emotional harm. Likelihood is not a fact its an opinion of a other.
We want to celebrate our community, centred around the Rivers of Life that our streets are named after. Bringing community groups, schools and neighbourhoods together, we will decorate our streets, make art, have a party and build a legacy for the environment - a boat-shaped raised bed for planting vegetables and flowers outside St Margaret's.
St Margaret's Welcome Centre is already playing a key role in the community of Longhill, with its affordable cafe, community groups (including craft club, debt advice, tots group) library facilities, job seeking support, family activities and church services.
We are very aware that there are many different aspects that help lives to flourish - yes there is the practical support that we give, but there is so much more to make life worth living - colour, humour, faith, hope, fun, creativity and community. Whilst celebrating all that 2017 has already brought to our city we have also come to realise that many from Longhill have not yet engaged.
