• Culture – giving people a platform to participate in leisure and cultural activity and promoting opportunities in the use of new and emerging technologies 

• Communities – projects that encourage safe and cohesive communities, celebrating similarities and differences

• Environment – projects that enhance and ensure the sustainability of local areas – encouraging the use of parks, woodlands, recreation grounds, community orchards etc

• Partnering – local people working together to develop and deliver projects that make a real difference to the communities and the areas where we live

• Growth – developing and delivering projects that promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth that could potentially provide employment for and within our communities

• Wellbeing – delivering projects that encourage healthy lifestyles, promote good mental wellbeing and help people to live independent lives.

HIT YOUR TARGET!

The CrowdfundSK Fund is a pot of £70,000 available for both organisations or individuals running crowdfunding campaigns on Spacehive to pitch to, however eligibility criteria and maximum pledges do vary. 

If you are a constituted group you could be eligible for a pledge from South Kesteven District Council of up to 50% of your target, or up to a maximum of £10,000.

CrowdfundSK for Groups can support campaigns from charities and community and voluntary organisations, including not-for profit organisations (e.g. social enterprises, community interest companies).

When you sign up to Spacehive, ensure you register as an organisation rather than individual in order to be matched to the relevant CrowdfundSK Fund. If at any stage you require any support creating your Spacehive project, contact support@spacehive.com. 

We want to make the process of pitching for a pledge from us as simple as possible. As part of your pitch we will ask you a number of additional questions that will help us to assess your application against the criteria we have set for CrowdfundSK. You must also comply with all eligibility and verifications requirements as set out by Spacehive.

• Please be aware that if your project has received an award from The SK Community Fund that whilst you are able to Crowdfund for any outstanding funding requirements your project will not eligible for a pledge from South Kesteven District.
• All the money raised by your campaign must to spent on the project for which the money was raised. 
• Your project cannot be for personal gain, nor must it be for lobbying, religious, or political purposes.
• You should have a written governing document or constitution, and should hold a bank or building society account in the name of your group or organisation with at least two signatories that are unrelated and do not live at the same address.
• You will also be required to have policies and procedures relevant to your project e.g. Project Plan, Safeguarding (such as DBS if relevant), Equalities etc. You can provide relevant documentation for this information as part of the pitching process.

The CrowdfundSK programme is coming to a close on 1st August, but it’s not too late to take part.

South Kesteven District Council is reviewing its community grants in light of COVID-19, and unfortunately will not be running an autumn funding round, with the programme coming to a close on the 1st August.

We know many of you have worked hard to prepare your ideas and were not able to take part in the spring round owing to the crisis. Therefore we are pleased to offer the opportunity to create your project on Spacehive and pitch to the CrowdfundSK Fund by the 1st July.

Along with pledges from your local community, there is an opportunity to get up to £10,000 if you are an organisation or £2,500 if you are an individual, from the council towards your crowdfunding campaign.

You’ll have a month to showcase support for your idea, with assessment by SKDC taking place on the 27th July. As always, you can set your own campaign dates, but we do not recommend running a campaign longer than 2-3 months.

Have your priorities changed? The criteria for the CrowdfundSK fund has been loosened so that projects that respond to, or are impacted by the crisis can also raise funds for emergency costs e.g. food supplies, or running costs for a community asset.
